It is that time of year again, though – time to start getting going on planning your holiday cards, announcements and party invitations! Let me know if I can help, I love a good creative project : )
Until then I wanted to share some photos from the weekend. I love November – the weather is crisp and cool, the colors are amazing and there are good smells of home cooked goodies in the air!

Ok, this was just a fun project for me that I wanted to share. I hope it sparks some ideas in you for your projects!
My son wants a desk for his room. I searched Craigslist until I found one that was the right size/price for us. It was red, sort of Americana/Shabby chic style, and the drawer pulls were soccer balls and baseballs. They were including a chair with the desk that looked a lot like a kitchen chair.
Well my son is not an athlete so that theme was not going to work for us but the desk was perfect so I bought it !
I sanded it lightly to remove the sheen then painted it black. I removed the existing drawer pulls and put on some great, shiny silver pulls. I found a picture of some flames on the internet to use as a guide and then freehanded them lightly with a crayon on the side, then painted them in afterwards.
Instead of a chair for the desk I went with a garage stool. It just seemed to fit the look of the desk.
All in all this project only took a couple of hours to do and it is a great personal touch for his room!
